Misery Escape Plan Success

Knittydirtygirl

Hello! It's me, Rachel-Marie, owner of http://knittydirtygirl.com

I make my fiber art items with love and an inspired, hipster heart! My hubby and I have grown a little family in the sweet small city of Lancaster, PA.

I love container gardening, vampires, knitting (of course), vintage shopping, shabby chic decorating, and audible.com. I enjoy my girl time, pampering myself or going out for a drink. Hey you only live once!

So, I’m only a click away! Msg. me, and you’re likely to get a response right away. Go ahead, I’d love to hear from you!

Misery Escape Plan Success

Hello!

How are you? I'm good, no really I am. Just hear me out... as most of you know I haven't been doing so hot this year. I've finally gotten some things worked out and I'm starting to feel better, yay! I was deeply depressed for a long time and trying to do things to get out of it.

One of those thing was mailing a package to Lime and Violet. Now hold your excitement because this train crashed big time! I was so anxious to get the package out that I mailed it to Miss V's old address. I've done everything I possibly can but it seems to be gone forever, no news. However, I do have a picture of everything I sent... I'll show you all and you can pretend I'm sending it to you?! Maybe you can "sqwee"? I went a little overboard and sent all of this PLUS a set of XMas cards. I'm heartbroken over the loss of the teddy bear sweater notebook and the vamp sachet. I can't listen or look at anything L+V anymore without getting sick to my stomach because I botched this whole thing so badly.

(Pictured Above: Most of a package that is lost forever...)

So that didn't help pull me out of my depression at all did it?! Okay, okay,
DON'T LOSE FAITH IN ME! KEEP READING IT GETS BETTER!

The fact that I am blogging at all is PROOF that it got better that's for SURE! Not without a few more little bumps in the road, I finally started seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

(Pictured Above: Look it's me seeing the light! Nov. 3)

One of my favorite things to knit these days are socks. So I knew this would be the key to my renewed happiness. I spun myself 300 yards (8.4 ounces!) of sock yarn that I am knitting into knee socks for little ol me. Andddd I started a Knit Along in Laila's Ravelry Group for knitting handspun socks that Kelley Petkun herself joined! Now THAT cheered me up BIGTIME. All my friends are in the KAL too it seems to be a hit! Oh, and my socks are coming out lovely... I'll share pictures of the progress later.

If you're not in the Knit Along and think you'd enjoy handspun sock knitting please come join us, you're TOTALLY invited. XOXO

Next in my journey to glee, my husband's prizes arrived. Yes, prizes. He won a contest at work and got to pick out prizes. (An ipod touch, a steam vac, and Aero Garden) Jerome let me pick out an Aero Garden!! No, they're NOT cheesey!!! Don't sayyyy that! haha. Anyway... I LOVE it I had no idea it could do so much. The Aero Garden inspired me to finish cleaning my studio... which inspired me to clean a LOT of other things. Before ya know it, I was living in a spotless heavenly, serene, peaceful place. (Told you it gets good!!)

I'm growing herbs in the Aero.

The light and the soothing water noises it makes are so nice. *Smile* I felt confident enough to cook a meal which I paired with some of our favorite beer from The Lancaster Brewing Company.

So now after the self imposed rehab of all things good stuffs, it's November 10th, 2009 I'm officially not depressed anymore. I pampered myself, I even painted my nails. My husband and I are finally getting along (he finally reordered a new wedding band - it's been lost allllll year), there's no pests in the house, everything is clean, I feel like I'm getting things done - things don't seem so HARD. Oh! and my Etsy shop is doing fabulous which is helping me save a little money! *grin*

Feeling really good for real this time.

Hope you're all well too!
But if you're not well, I hope my misery escape plan inspires you to make your own!

Love,
Rachel-Marie

Good to see you smiling and doing better.

    Hasn't this year completely sucked?

It sure is good to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I certainly wasn't sure if I was ever going to get out of it.

If you ever want to talk I'm here for you.
  • Sweet girl {{{{{{HUG!}}}}}}

I love the sock idea. One day, maybe one day I can try socks. I just learned how to decrease & increase, whooo! I know what it is to see the light at the end of the tunnel & laugh again.
  • I'm so glad to hear that you're doing better. I'm totally on the 2009 Sucked Bandwagon, but hopefully things will start to look up as well.

    Take care and keep smiling!
